Standing on the Shoulders of Giants: Using the past to shape the future for Psychiatric Nurses

We had a successful Education Day on June 25, 2013 with Shirley and Martin - we enjoyed exchanging stories with them. The day was empowering.

UNA Local 183 Education Committee is excited to have two internationally renowned nurse leaders share their words of wisdom and expertise at this workshop. As outlined in the brochure you can see these speakers are very influential leaders to the psychiatric nursing practice throughout the world. Shirley's passion for nurses to understand the interpersonal relationship as a foundation to practice will help us with the process to return to the core principles of psychiatric nursing practice.

Martin Ward is a dynamic psychiatric nurse who realistically examines the practice and advocates for psychiatric nursing leadership in the health care system.

We believe these two nurses will give us direction in our practice and we encourage you to come with your questions and hope this can be an interactive day where we can begin the process to work through our current issues in the workplace by returning to our practices' foundations.
